ARC Cancer Support Centres has been awarded a transformational grant from the RTÉ Toy Show Appeal, in partnership with Community Foundation Ireland.
The funding will go directly towards ARC’s Play Therapy programme, supporting children navigating one of the hardest things a young person can face, a parent or family member’s cancer diagnosis.
Play Therapy gives children a safe, age-appropriate space to process fear, grief, and change that they often don’t have the words for. For many families, this kind of support isn’t easily found elsewhere, making it a vital part of ARC’s work.
Charlie, a former ARC client who took part in Play Therapy when his family was affected by cancer, shares what that support meant to him in the video below.
This grant marks a significant step forward in ARC’s capacity to support children and families across Ireland, at a time when they need it most.
