If I were to highlight one area of work, it would be our commitment to building genuinely joined-up supports for families in this community. At Carrigtwohill Family Resource Centre, we see every day that childcare, counselling, family support and community connection do not sit in neat, separate boxes – they are deeply intertwined in people’s lives and often each one shapes the other.

A family may come to us with one immediate need, but very often that opens up a wider picture of the pressures they are carrying.

Our ambition is to keep strengthening a local service that meets families where they are, responds to the realities they face, and offers support that is practical, humane and rooted in community. For me, that is where the real value of community-based work lies: not in treating problems in isolation, but in supporting people in the round, with dignity, compassion and a genuine understanding of the context of their lives.
